This event is in the past.
Mark your calendars for an event you don't want to miss! We'll be taking a road trip up to the Hiwassee River to experience the first Total Solar Eclipse in this area since 1979! The solar event itself will kick off around 2:30 EST and last for 2 and a half minutes. We will want to be on the river between 1:30pm -3:00pm , giving ourselves pleanty of time to set up and enjoy the event once the time comes.
This event takes place on a Monday, and will likely require accommodations to be made Sunday night at Hiwassee Outfitters. However, you're welcome to join us day of, just plan to meet at the usual Put in at 11:00EST!
IMPORTANT: This is a Solar Event, meaning special eyewear is highly recommended. We are near the line of totality, which means we should be safe to look at it directly. However, in the event that we are not, you may research and purchase special solar glasses here.
