Day at the River

Saturday, June 17th, 2017 at 8am - 3pm

Location: Kings Bend, Locust Fork River

This event is in the past.

The BCC will once again be part of Friends of the Locust Fork’s Day at the River, an annual event for kids in and near Blount County to spend a day at the river.  Saturday, June 17, from 8am to 3pm.  We need BCC volunteers to bring boats, gear and themselves.

Day at the River is held at Kings Bend, in the pool below the racecourse.  We do a little paddling instruction with the kids in attendance, then let them paddle about. It’s a great time, and a great way to give back something to the community and to FLFR.  And it’s a great way to instill some appreciation of free flowing rivers in the next generation.

Please consider giving of your time.  We can use anyone and everyone.  No teaching experience needed. You’ll get wet, have fun and feel good about doing so.  Please contact Shep if you have questions.

Please be at Kings Bend by 8am on Saturday, June 17, with boats/paddles/PFDs. Lunch is provided. Over around 3pm.  There ain’t nuthin’ quite like messin’ around in small boats on rivers.
